The first international baseball event was a series of exhibition games took place during the Olympic Games 1904. 28. edition of the World Cup of Baseball starts on September 9 to September 27, 2009. This event hosted in seven European countries and a total of twenty teams. It is not the first time that the game will take place on this continent, has already happened five times before.
Two giants of baseball Europe, Italy and the Netherlands will join the organization by Spain, Russia, Sweden, Germany, San Marino and the Czech Republic. The most notable is that this World Cup tournament was decided to make environment friendly and can be called as a "green event".

Italy to host major
The recent press conference confirmed that Italy will be the main host of the 2009 Baseball World Cup. Secretary General of the NOC Pagnizzi Italian Raffaele said: "My idea is that baseball has a real chance this time." It seems that this event comes from the 2009 Baseball World Cup will be an important step towards the restoration of baseball in the global platform.
A successful tournament, not only to accelerate the development of baseball in Europe, but it may be a laudable effort to bring the sport back to the Olympic Programme, the International Olympic Committee Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark that the fall in 2009 alone.
