Wimbledon Tennis Championships 2009 - Full Preview

Wimbledon Championship is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and is arguably the most prestigious.

3. Invitation Ladies doubles (8 pairs Round Robin)
Fourth Gentleman Wheelchair Doubles (4 pairs)
The players and the planting of a total of 128 players will be presented in all individual runs, 64 pairs in each doubles event of the same sex and 48 pairs of mixed doubles. Since 2001, 32 male and female players are given in single women heads of series and a gentleman, while 16 teams are ranked in doubles events.
Colors and uniforms: dark green and purple are the traditional colors of Wimbledon. However, all tennis players participating in the tournament to wear all white or at least almost white clothes. Green clothing is worn by the chair umpire, linesmen and boys and girls ball.
Trophies and cash prizes: The Singles champion receives a Gentleman silver gilt cup 18.5 inches tall and 7.5 inches in diameter Inn. The finalists of each game will be marked with a silver plate. In 2008, when the prize money to this gentleman and ladies individual championship was 750,000 and double winners received 229 000.
