Life offers us some options really close at times when it comes to understanding what is better, Pepsi Cola? Puppies or kittens? Pele or Maradona? All these pairs have several common factors that make them very well but are also unique in its own way, and that's exactly the case with Pele and Maradona comparison, a comparison that sparked enormous and passionate debates throughout modern history.In 1970, Pele had already established a great name in football and it was considered the greatest player who ever lived. Not even the glory went to a short, stuffed Argentinean player called Maradona walked on the football field of the first time.Maradona born into a poor family, but as with all families Argentina at that time, football was center of their lives.
Maradona and his two younger brothers started playing football from an early age and was seen as a great talent around age 11 when he was taken to the youth team in Buenos Aires "Argentinos Juniors, where he entertains the audience with his juggling during the periods when the national team games.
Soon after, Maradona was created in the senior team at age 16, to be called for the national team at the same time. He played his first World Cup in 1982, scoring two goals in five games, but also receive a red card for a foul cycle. With Argentina beaten by Italy in the second round, Maradona had to wait four years for a chance shiny trophy and when he had the opportunity, seized it with both hands.The 1986 World Cup is considered by many the most spectacular history of soccer and Maradona has a lot to do with it. He scored 5 goals throughout the Cup and five assists, but it would be the quarter-final against England, which will go down in history. Maradona scored two goals to cement his legend as both a unique and difficult goal player.His first game was marked by hand but the referee allowed. Controversial, this goal later became known as the "Maradona hand of God's purpose."
Although his career has been filled with controversy, ranging from pitch-fought for cocaine abuse, Maradona remains one of the most important figures in modern sport, with Pele and Johan Crujff, forms the golden trio of football of all time.
Another goal of the game, scored just 4 minutes after the hand of God, is still widely known as the "Goal of the Century". Maradona took the ball near his penalty box and started to sprint that England would have been the target of 15 seconds, 70 meters, 5 defenders and the goalkeeper later.
