The team of Major League Baseball Los Angeles Dodgers. They belong to the Western Division of the League. The team was created in 1883 with New York as his hometown, in the first place.
Technically, the Dodgers began the commercialization of baseball. When the team was formed in late 1800, amateur baseball leagues have gained popularity among people who loved the Dodgers Game.The is named after the nickname of Brooklyn "trolley dodger." This term means a person from Brooklyn, New York, as they tend to dodge the trains and cars in the city in its attempt to play on the street. Initially, the team was known as the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers.
The Dodgers are great rivals of the Giants. And their rivalry goes back centuries way back. The Dodgers and Giants are in New York. If the Brooklyn Dodgers, the Giants are in Manhattan. It almost tore across the state. When the teams were moved from New York to California, the rivalry was simply transplanted. In 1958, the Dodgers became the germ of Los Angeles, while the Giants Francisco.But represented before the Dodgers as they are known today, the team was named the Brooklyn Robins in the early 1900 . This is because the team manager Wilbert Robinson, who had restored the reputation of the team in the league. He did it to motivate the team reach the World Series in 1916 and 1920.
Wilbert Robinson was replaced by Max Carey when he retired in 1931. The team was appointed almost like the Canary Islands, then in Brooklyn, which was, after that time Carey, whose name was actually Carnarius. However, this does not happen. Instead, his original name of the Brooklyn Dodgers was the 1930 restored.During, the Dodgers were even more determined to rebuild the team and become serious contenders for the title. Larry MacPhail, general manager of the Dodgers for his part, Branch Rickey joined a team that consists of Jackie Robinson, Gil Hodges, Pee Wee Reese, Roy Campanella, Carl Furillo and Duke Snider. Together, they won five pennants from 1941 to 1953. However, they were beaten by another team of New York, the Yankees, in all series. The team of resistance fighters and fans eager, but never lost hope.
When Walter O'Malley got a majority of the team in 1950, he began to think about buying land in Brooklyn to build a stadium which is much better and more accessible than Ebbets Field, home of the Dodgers. Being a real estate businessman, he tried to find the most appropriate place until he decided that the piece of land, he needs just are not in Brooklyn. That's when he began to consider, in Los Angeles, California.
And with his eyes on his goal, his motto was "wait until next year", "Next year" occurred in 1955 when the Dodgers beat the Bronx Bombers to get the long-awaited championship.
